Phuket Top Team MMA Training Camp Thailand – K1
K1 is a style of fighting that has been modified to be “more exciting” than the average muay thai or kickboxing fight.
K1 as seen in Japan and now in growing popularity with ‘It’s Showtime’ – is a sport similar to muay thai, however they have taken out elbows, most clinching and shortened the rounds to 3. K1 fights are usually action packed from start to finish and offer combination fighting rather than staggered or rhythm fighting as often seen in muay thai.
Phuket Top Team MMA Training Camp is taking the k1 style of quick hard in and out combination striking to work together into a style that suits MMA. Sparring is usually k1 style sparring in most muay thai gyms in any case, as clinching is usually seperate and elbows are taken out of sparring.
Many fighters such as Alister Overeem, Gokhan Saki, Genki Sudo, Mirko CroCop and many more have gone from K1 fighting into MMA fighting. The crossover is very well suited.
