Greco-Roman style is one of the amateur styles, which is still used in the Olympic Games. It is primarily different from other forms by prohibiting attacks under the waist.
Judo originated in Japanese martial art forms like Jujutsu, and focuses on free sparring with most of the time being spent on tachi-wasa, which involves practicing throws with the feet. The remaining part of the practice involves on-ground moves, known as ne-wasa. In most competitions spinal locks and wrist locks are prohibited, but they are still taught during practice.
As the name suggests, the freestyle allows players to attach any part of the body. Points can be stored by putting the opponent on the back or trough takedowns. Freestyle Wrestling players can win the match by pinning the opponent. The training focuses on single leg and double leg takedowns, which play an important role in the sport of MMA.
Single Leg Takedown This is considered to be one of the simplest yet most effective moves in the sport. The aim is to drop levels to shoot in after the opponent's lead leg. The lead leg is pulled towards the player's chest and hugged tightly in place. The player then turns at an angle to send the opponent out of balance, slamming him to the ground.
Double Leg Takedown. This technique is similar to the single leg takedown method, but it involves grabbing hold of both the legs. The rest of the technique is the same.
The shoot style has been influenced by many martial arts including the other styles such as Greco-Roman, freestyle, catch style, Muay Thai and Karate. But it received most of its elements from the Catch Style. The Catch Style is based almost entirely on submissions, also referred to as "hooks."
From the perspective of MMA, a player or trainee of Wrestling cannot have a fighting chance against other wrestlers without a solid stance. it involves keeping the knees bent and the feet wide and low enough to be able to easily sprawl and thwart any takedown attempts.
