About Phuket

PHUKET HAS BEEN DESCRIBED AS A TROPICAL ISLAND PARADISE BY MANY TOURISTS AND LOCALS ALIKE.

Phuket features a huge selection of amazing beaches along with the Historic Phuket town and many absolutely amazing little islands scattered off the main island of Phuket.

ONE OF PHUKETS BEST QUALITIES IS THE ALL ROUND OPTIONS OF THINGS TO SEE AND DO, FROM EXOTIC NIGHT TIME ENTERTAINMENT, MARKET BAZARRS, SCUBA DIVING, ADVENTURE SPORTS, ANIMAL SHOWS, ELEPHANT RIDE TOURS, STUNNING BEACHES, MUAY THAI AND NOW MIXED MARTIAL ARTS.

Life in Phuket offers all these features with the added benefit of being a very cheap and affordable holiday / training destination. The people of Phuket, and Thai people are culturally very happy and very open to guests in this great Country.

Phuket Top Team MMA Training Camp is based in the Chalong district of Phuket.

Here are some key features of Chalong:
Chalong is known for being a peaceful district with the benefit of having all the night life, markets and beaches not to far away.

Chalong provides a great area to live, train, relax and absorb Thai culture. Restaurants and food stalls are endless, literally every second shop cooks and serves food. From traditional Thai food to German, English, American, French, Italian and many other international restaurants. There is a Big C shopping centre and the huge Central Festival shopping complex and Cinema, both 5 minutes by bike/car. Close by there is a family mart, 7/11 and a Tesco shop. There is also a very popular Villa Mart – offering all the imported things you might find in a western supermarket (wheat bix, nutella etc).

Chalong Pier is also a key feature of Chalong. Surrounding the Pier are many restaurants and small bars catering to tourists.

Not far from the Pier you will also find snake shows, monkey shows and the Phuket Zoo.

Yet another key feature in Chalong is Wat Chalong (Chalong Temple) Anyone is welcome to visit and explore the amazing temple.

Phuket is an overall very safe place, Chalong in particular is extremely safe and tourists and locals are very much at ease around Chalong – Day and Night.

Approx. 10 minutes from Phuket Top Team you will find a huge selection of amazing tropical island beaches.

The first beach you will likely come to from Chalong is Rawai – as you move along the coast towards the hustle and bustle of Patong you will find the following….

Nai Harn (popular swimming and relaxing beach)

Ya Noi (popular diving and relaxing beach)

Then you move into the more populated beaches that will feature many shops, markets and stalls.

From Kata to Karon and along to Patong beach. It is always worth exploring along the coast as there is just so much to see and do.

10 minutes in the opposite direction from the beach, you will find old Phuket town.

The town is driven heavily on the Thai/Chinese population of Phuket. This creates a unique experience with plenty of shopping and dining to complement the old architecture throughout the city.

Phuket Town also plays host to a bunch of street festivals and Buddhist festivals – including the world famous Vegetarian festival (a must see)

Phuket Town also has the Weekend night market (Sat/Sunday) which is always a great place to shop, eat and browse around.

Phuket is also surrounded by spectacular islands.

Only a short and cheap boat ride away

Phuket also has a nightlife/entertainment area that is not to be missed.

For some the weekend represents a time to rest up and heal the body 100% so they can smash through another week of training. However when you have putting in the hard training and you are looking to spend a night out, Phuket has plenty of great night life!

The key area is Patong – featuring endless amounts of bars, nightclubs, go go clubs, 2 muay thai stadiums and hotels galore.

Patong is roughly 15/20 minutes from Chalong and about 500/600 baht for a taxi fare.

For night life a little closer there is Laguna nightclub (rawai) and plenty of bars scattered in Kata/Karon area. If you would prefer to go more thai style then Phuket Town has a growing night life that is more catered to the locals.

Once a month Phuket top Team also plays host to an event called Island Fight Night. Where people from gyms all over Phuket can come and compete in amateur MMA, Muay Thai, Boxing and grappling competition.
